54 things I did, enjoyed or am grateful for in 2021

In no particular order.
Why 54? I was aiming for 100, but my memory is failing me.

1. Plants! my collection grew, some died, but overall, my little jungle brings me joy.
2. Art. It brings me constant joy,
3. Natural fabric dyed. I tried black eye pea; it was gorgeous—also turmeric, avocado, onion and more. Hopefully, I'll have more time to explore that avenue this year.
4. I played with ink and markers. Which I hadn't done in several years
5. Grilled banana in butter with sugar became an excellent and fast dessert.
6. I consulted a Nutritionist, and she changed my relationship with food profoundly. I recommend reading on intuitive nutrition if you have struggled with diet all your life as I did.
7. Watercolour. No matter what artistic exploration I go on, I always come back to watercolour.
8. I enjoy growing vegetables in my community garden with all the friendship that comes with it.
9. Completed 3 journals 
10. Healed from a hysterectomy
11. I grew my hair the longest it has been in years, and I weirdly enjoy it.
12. I became closer to my downstair neighbours, and we enjoyed many meals together.
13. I sold some artwork spontaneously.
14. Made a new class on gouache (it's still going on)
15. lost my job 
16. Because of that, I enrolled in a UX Design program and really enjoyed the new possibilities.
17. Painted big again, I remade the big painting I have on the staircase.
18. I adopted Lucy when my neighbour Serge passed away.
19. The new guy is the perfect neighbour, discrete and helpful.
20. I got a new wooden desk in my office. 
21. I installed new shelves all over the place.
22. Change my kitchen table for an island giving more space to cook.
23. The music of Charlotte Cardin. I listen to it a lot. 
24. ​24. ​I enjoyed watching The tv show Discovery of witches. It is really close to the books, which I loved a lot. I can't wait for season 3.
25. Homemade Thai plum and green tomato sauce, that stuff is divine.
26. Pears preserves with ginger; I went through 2 batches in no time. 
27. The giant green beans I grew were surprisingly good. 
28. I grew so many tomatoes.
29. Found a tofu press for less than $10 that works perfectly
30. My Cuisinart art fryer toaster oven broke two months before the end of the warranty, and I was somehow able to get a brand new one for free.
31. Homemade salsa. So much better than store-bought.
32. Homemade no-kneed bread, I made so much of it since Covid began.
33. Oil Pastel frim Paul Ruben's. I can't believe how creamy they are for the price!
34. My small apartment is getting more and more organized with all the stuff I have; it's not an easy task.
35. I saw my work team altogether for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic.
36. Infini•T, a virtual reality exhibit, brought me to SPACE!!
37. I changed my dish set and realized that old ceramic plates make excellent paint palettes.
38. My pothos and growing so long it will soon go from wall to wall.
39. I got a waffles maker. Have you ever had hashbrown cooked in a waffles maker? It's the perfect base for a dive breakfast.
40. I switch to homemade cleaner for almost everything in the house. If you have vinegar, soda, water and degreasing dish soap, you won't need much else.
41. Puzzle art, a game app for mobile, it's just really cute and inspiring.
42. Books. I haven't read as much as I would like but enjoyed some french novels by Katherine Pancol last summer. Catching up with her characters and her universe was like meeting an old friend.
43. I painted an old black table with light pink chalk paint instead of buying a new plant stand. Turn out lovely. 
44. I am slowly losing the extra weight I took during the last three years by becoming more active.
45. The internet. For all the connections, educations possibilities and doors that are open to those who know where to look. Sure there is also a lot of bad stuff on it; we simply need to curate it to our needs.
46. Music, all of the music!
47. Working from home prepared me for what's to come and made me realize that it is the life I want.
48. I maintained my mental health even if I don't think I ever felt this lonely and isolated.
49. I reduced food waste with better planning and doing more little groceries instead of big ones less often. This will help since the food price keeps getting higher.
50. I am slowly reducing clutter in every room which coincidentally help clear the clutter in my brain :) 
51. I bought an air humidifier, and oh my gosh, do I sleep better during winter. My place is otherwise so dry.
52. Art of other that fills my art. Esther Gili and Rebecca Dautremer, to name just two.
53. That I invested in my online business in the last six years, I will take advantage of not having a day job to spend more time growing my business and creating more content. 
54. The fact that I have no debts. This is good since I don't have a regular income anymore.
